As far as I know, these are the first native Mini DisplayPort monitors available from a third party vendor. According to their announcement, they are supposed to begin shipping in September. They are taking no-obligation reservations for the first batch.

If you can find a cable with mini-DisplayPort on one end and DisplayPort on the other (why can't Apple use the standard connector?) there are at least 4 companies that are selling displays with DisplayPort -- Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Eizo Nanao. I've seen Dell computers with display cards supporting DisplayPort and I would guess that HP and Lenovo do as well. So it's coming, slowly but coming. Considering that VGA is still with us after 22 years these things move slowly.
