A little list of programs I have found useful

Audio Book Maker -

Convert any ordinary text file into an audiobook in AIFF format, which you can drag and drop into iTunes, convert to MP3, use in iMovie and other multimedia projects, or export to your iPod. The program uses Mac OS X text-to-speech abilities, so you have a choice of 22 voices.

iGetMovies

Basically this copies a Quicktime movie to your desktop from iTunes and Safari.

Backlight 2

This nifty program will run a screensaver as your desktop.

It won't do those screensavers that are a application that act like a screensaver. It does have a "priority" level you can adjust.

It will eat some CPU cycles, but it's just way to cool. Easy to turn on/off/change via a menu.

Try it with Marine Aquarium on a Apple Display, awesome!

SnapZ Pro X

Commercial software that can record any part of the screen as a Quicktime movie (and other video formats) with sound.
