Hey all-

I could swear that I used to be able to "post" pictures, that I had on my .mac website, to other sites when i wanted to post, and "add a picture" -

I would take an image that was on my .mac hosted website, and then "open image in new window".... then copy THAT url, and post in another forum or website, or whatever, and my "image" would appear on my post.

Now, I can't seem to "open image in new window" anymore - I have a bunch of images on my .MAC website, but I can't "post" them to any sites anymore - anyone have a way around that?

Thanks!

JerrySS

Still works for me, I think. Let's check.

Image

Yup, still works.

To make the image appear on this post you have to add the [img]URL[/img] tags to the front and end of the url.

Are you right clicking (ctrl + clicking) on the image?

The newest version/s of iWeb are set so that one can not get a direct link to the photo when they are displayed over the Internet. At least that has been my experience.

I have started posting the photos I want to use in my Public folder and direct link to them there.

YMMV

Hey Chakris -

I do "right click" - I no longer get "open IMAGE in new window"..instead, the best I get is "open LINK in new window" which gives me a link with an HTML # at the end - not the "true" JPG location .. so, on message board or posts where you dump in the "image location" url, I can't do that anymore -

I think it is more in line with you, ozarkshome, because this is the newest iweb version, and I can't directly link anymore - it's really annoying, and another reason why I question the .mac experience - why - why -WHY would you take that feature away?

Thanks for the good idea about the public folder -

Jerry

Sorry, my bad. :( The image above is on a site started on iWeb '06, then I updated it with iWeb '08. Apparently, that feature wasn't updated, as I can still right click and copy image address, or open in a new window.

You mean to say that you cannot copy the image address either? That sucks.

Just guessing but I imagine most folks were linking to their slideshows and not direct to photos. Or maybe Apple just wants to encourage that behavior?
