I recently downloaded and installed MPEG Streamclip (thanks SLydude!) which is working great, looking exactly like what I needed to edit my dvd'd, except........

I've saved the files as .DV and and when i try to IMPORT into iMovie the get the following message "the file could not be imported carmen1.dv"

have I done something wrong when exporting the file to dv? or am I missing something?

I don't remember getting this error but it's been a while since I did this kind of import. How long a clip is it? Also, what are your system specs?

Well I'm not sure what happened but I closed imovie then reopened it and now it's fine, fines have imorted ok!!!

Maybe you can answer another question regarding importing to imovie,

I've tryed to import files I've already edited using imovie but I am able to, the error message couldn't parse-43 comes up, but if I open the file using imovie (in another window) then drag the movie clp accross to where I'm working, it does so with no problems. Why is this?

I thought that error was due[ to problems with file corruption. But then again if hat were the case then it shouldn't work when you open the file in another window. I'll see what I can find out. Glad you got part of the problem resolved anyway.
