new to macs. had windows 2 programs which would 1. record incoming radio songs as mp3's for listening later , and 2. convert video files to smaller formats for utube, ect. will quick time do this, or do i need to go to pro, or is there another single or pair of programs which will do this on my new imac?
thanks

The sound recording I don't know much about but for your video needs I can.

Quicktime Pro is needed to convert files in Quicktime.

I use a program called Visual Hub for my conversion needs, it also needs to be bought but has a great bunch of presets and is very easy to use. http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/

Otherwise if your short on money after buying your iMac there is MPEG Streamclip you could try for free at http://www.squared5.com/

Use Audio HiJack or RadioLover to record songs from a stream.

Some popular Mac video apps are, Handbrake, VisualHub, MacTheRipper and CosmoPod.

I was going to suggest RadioLover or Audio Hijack Pro but Bmer beat me to the punch again. I use Audio Hijack Pro regularly with no problems. I like the ability to grab audio from almost any application.

Say Bmer, do you ever sleep? :)

For the past 6-weeks, I've been going 24-hours+ some days getting the new MacOSG addition ready to launch. Actually, I was so tired during the YML Show Wednesday night, I fell asleep. Gotta get that fixed!
