Vendetta Online is a massively multiplayer game, shipping now, which permits thousands of players to interact as the pilots of spaceships in a vast universe.

The demo seems easy to learn, I have no idea how much it will cost to play this game.

I suspect a monthly CC subscription if what I read is right.

But it is pretty cool.

Well I've done my eight hours and signed up for three months.

It's pretty fun, the Universe is vast.

The gameplay is just about flawless.

You must learn to take on missions, the easiest is the Cargo, this will get you money and license to buy a faster ship with more weapons.

However you also need to take on a few bots to get used to fighting.

Since you start out with a free ship, you can die a few times but later it will hurt your character.

Seems to be a lot of Mac users playing.

Iv'e finally figured out how to mine, you need to upgrade your ship first and then buy a mining rig and "b" target a rock and hit the button you assigned the mining machine too.

The only way to assign the rig to a button is in the space station.

After the 8 hours free it only cost $10 a month or $27 for three months at a time there is other options as well.

So don't expect me to be around here much.

My alignment is the Italni or whatever they are called.

So I guess some of you smart asses are going to be the hostile ones and come hunt me down.

But good luck finding me, even at choke points with clever manuvering I can slip away. Because poping out of lightspeed you can't predict exactly where it will happen.

The universe is vast and one can pick any station for a home world.

I've noticed in the Tutorial they tell you to go to a certian spot in space, when you pop out a bunch of sharks are there to waste you. So don't get upset if you can't finish this part of your training.

There really isn't much after that, just go to another station and restart the tutorial and you'll hopefully get another sector without the sharks.

Have fun this game is pretty cool.

The thing is this is diffrent to most online games as its set in
space.

I had a look at it when i read a review on Inside Mac games, played it for a while but it hasnt grabed me, find it a little dull.

Might take another look at it when the G5 is back from being repaired.

Yes it is dull at first, until you have mined a bit, earned some credits, killed some bots, traded a bit and built up your rating and licenses.

I guess it was meant to be realistic, space is a big loney place.

Taking on real players is where the fun is at!

For your Info, if you wormhole to another segment of your "race" space the bots there are different, either easier or harder.

I've found the space closest to the Servo (?) space has the hardest bots and better weapons to buy.

I also hear if you have enough cash you can buy the best weapons from the pirates.

If you die you obviously have to buy more weapons and another ship.

Some stations if you set as a "home" don't carry the same weapons or ships.

Also different stations have different "missions" which you earn a reputation and better weapons if your successful.

Oh if your fighting, make sure your 3000 meters away and have a destination in case you have to lightspeed your tail out of a certain death.

When fighting others make sure you jump into empty space and then jump again quickly to somewhere else. They will follow you because their heads up display will tell them, so act fast.

Ok a tip, don't enable the shaders.

My PowerMac's Powersupply started that horrible beeping noise and a stuttering of the space stations occurred coinciding with the power supply.

I don't what it is, but I'm submitting a serious bug report to Apple, this isn't right at all.

It's always the graphics that does it and it doesn't matter what video card you have either.

Defect in some of our power supplies most likely. I have to get it fixed one of these days, I wish I could do it myself.
