Hey Rick, quick question about those aliases. I also use them when navigating unknown waters. I have sometimes thought about setting one up for my wife to help wean her off her windows machine. But if I were to set her up on a Mac, wouldn't I set up her Mail with my .Mac account, and then she would get ALL the mail for my account, not just the alias I set up for her?
Eddie: Yes, you're correct. If you create an alias for your wife on your primary .Mac email address, then you'd enable your wife to access every email message sent to that primary .Mac email address, whether via the primary address or via an alias pointing to that address, via Mail.
An alternative is to purchase a .Mac sub-account. I have one (and I think it runs me a whopping 10 bucks a year) that, while it's tied to my primary .Mac account, still handles email sent to it privately within Mail.
