I've done YET ANOTHER SCREEN CAP OF A PROBLEM Attempting to specify a Password, for .Mac Public folder access.

This password specified, doesn't seem to be accepted, by a browser, trying to Access the Public folder, using the "Created Password"

Once the folder is locked (As seen in the clip) it can only be accessed via http - by entering the user's Master .Mac Account username, and password, which you'd obviously not want to share with anyone.

Or... are we doing something wrong in the clip ?

It is supposed to use the following:

Username: public
Password: password set in .Mac Prefs Pane

(NOTE: public is not capitalized)

You may need to give a few mins after setting a password on the iDisk before it will recognize it.

Hmm.. interesting... I've HAD to use a capital P in

http://idisk.mac.com/username-Public

in the URL for an Open public folder to be mounted - I'll try the non capital in the Username box - you'd figure they'd Uniform that.

I'll see if that works... we'll also give it a while before trying it, to see if it needs a bit of time to take.

You can actually use a lowercase p in the URL as well.

Most web servers (using Apache) will have a module enabled (mod_speling) that will automatically correct spelling in a URL by searching for/matching documents that are typed incorrectly by a single letter or capitalization.
