Video Capture Headache!

can anyone out there help or advise?
I'm desperately trying to capture the contents of my Sky+ (& my video for that matter) on to the hard drive of my G5. I've bought (& subsequently returned) a Elgato EyeTv200 which is useless and am now tearing my hair out as to a solution

Can anyone suggest another device? capture card? or way to do this?

AlchemyTV PCI card, captures right to Quicktime and MPEG 4 I beleive.

There is also the Decklink PCI cards by BlackMagic Design.
