Helvetica Font and Leopard

Creative people using a Macintosh for page layout and graphics design may experience something odd with Helvetica in Leopard. It's now a system font PERIOD. It cannot be replaced with a postscript alternative.

Wow. That stinks.
I can't imagine the headaches this is going to cause. The hundreds of thousands of legacy files that are going to have to be updated using the OpenType version of Helvetica because of this. :shock:

This guy over at PrintPlanet (a forum for pre-press professionals) seems to have a fix for this problem. It's way too scary of a system-level hack for me to ever try...especially since my home Mac is used by the whole family. But, I can see professional shops opting to try it.
