My friend, after playing with my MacBook, has decided to purchase one. He loves the built in camera. His family all have PCs. Will he be able to talk to, with Video, his families PCs from his MacBook When/if he gets one? He currently has dial up but is trying to switch to AT&T high speed.

I haven't done it but iChat can connect with PC users who are using AOL Instant Messenger. Check out this tutorial for details. The iSight camera is probably easiest to use bot others will work as well. The tutorial also gives some basic information about which other cameras also work as well recommended system specs.

I've done a few audio chats with my my G5 with no problems. I started trying audio chat several months ago and have had very little lag on conversations so far. Haven't tried video chat yet -- no camera. Besides I don't think anyone wants to see my face. :)

Skype for Mac worked for me when I wanted to do a video/audio chat with a PC.

That iChat/AOL Tutorial link is a handy one to bookmark.

I saw that link some time ago when someone posted to a thread about problems getting chat to work on the PC. I didn't think of using Skype. I had it on the G5 for a while but removed it because most of me people I would chat with are using iChat rather than Skype. I was also getting "Skype spam" from time to time that I don't get with iChat.
