Help. My airport connection to the net is being overwhelmed by a Netgear signal. Is there some way to stop it. I can get on line with their Netgear. But I can't get online with my airport wireless system - and neither can any of my other computers. :(

Can you not connect to your router, or can you not use the internet while connected to your router? I'm guessing that you can't connect to your router based on the post.

Your best bet would be to change the channel that your router uses, so that it's on a different channel from the interfering router. I'm not sure exactly how the settings are laid out, but there should be a clear setting to change the channel. You can change it randomly until the problem goes away (you want to be on a channel that other routers aren't using) or you can use something like iStumbler to figure out what channels are in use and avoid them.

After you have deteremined what channel the Netgear base station is using (iStumbler is a great tool) set your channel to be at least 5 numbers away from the Netgear for best performance.
