Hey All,

I've had my G5 almost four months now. Intermittent freezes once in awhile, but this machine is awesome. I upgraded from my first Mac, a 600Mhz iBook. Haven't upgraded the RAM yet, but it seems fine with what I mostly use, CS and FCE. I think it came with the ATI Radeon 9600.

Kirk

Welcome Kirk! You really need to add more RAM using CS and FCE. Read this article about G5 and memory. :D

Thanks Bmer! I know I should, just haven't decided where to buy it. Always hearing bad things about various brands :)

I went with Crucial. They charge a little more, but it works great. I've never had a freeze yet in over 3 months since I bought my G5. :D

Don, don't fight over the machine now!

Create a user for yourself and your son and turn on fast user switching under Login Options in your Accounts control panel. That way you will both have your own separate computing enviorments and can switch back and forth easily. Like having two computers. :D
